The Pulitzer has a modern but yet warm and welcoming atmosphere about it and the roof terrace is to die for! Now in November it is open so you can sit there if you like, but the bar is closed. But in the summer, it is one of Barcelona’s most visited and they have live music three nights a week.
The rooms are nicely decorated and like everywhere else in the hotel there are lots of art, and the materials used create a warm but yet modern and fresh look. Leather, wood and fabrics of different styles are all working great together.
One little detail that I liked very much was the small boxes in the bathroom marked man, woman and both. They were containing, razors, foot cream, toothpaste, tooth brush etc. Things that you might need in general. Some Swedes might react; "oh, that is so stereotypic! Like only women use foot crème, and men razors!". Well I liked it very much and I can happily tell you that in the box named both, I found bath salt and a condom. Not only was I happy about the fact that the hotel acknowledge that people have sex, but also that it might be a especially common when you are on vacation, and also the fact that they took responsibility in that. Well done Pulitzer, and keep up the good thinking on the details!
So when you have slept a good night sleep in the very comfortable beds you might not want to get up. I really recommend you do though since the breakfast is VERY good. Freshly squeezed orange juice as much as you can drink and wonderful fruit, sandwedges, yoghurt and pastries. Just go crazy!
Other nice features at the Pulitzer are that you can rent a bike to get around town, and you have a very nice bar in the lobby with cosy sofas. Looks and feels a little bit like a modern library.
We can warmly recommend the Pulitzer and if you want to see more pictures and find out more about the hotel you can go to their website. http://www.hotelpulitzer.es
You can book the hotel directly on the website of course, but also on sites like Mr Jet. The prize is 176 Euro for a night and breakfast.
