Finally we are here in Penedés, and how we have waited! We started our Monday with taking a wrong turn on the winding roads up on our way to Loopart and ending up 20 minutes late. Luckily our friend Jesi is very understanding.
Al ot of things had changed at Llopart since we were there last, and the visiting centre is new and expand. And as always the sun is shining and the view over Sant Sadurni d'Anoia and Montserrat is lovely from the winery. Probably one of the best views in Penedés.
The harvest is well on the way and we visit the vineyards and get a picture or two on how it is going with the harvest, before we go down in the cellar and on to get an update on the portfolio.
Llopart is celebrating 125 years this year and have made a celebration cava called Espumos, with inspiration from the first Cava that the family ever made. You can read more about it on their website. http://www.llopart.com
The Llopart portfolio is very well made and there are many lovely Cavas to enjoy. Their new long aged Espumos is very special and has a elaborated character, but also their pinot noir rosé Microcosmos has since earlier times captured our hearts in a special way.
We had a wonderful time with Jesi and Miriam at Llopart and hope to see them soon again in Cavatast next weekend. Here comes some more pictures from the visit, and next year you will probably see more pictures from the visit in our new book.
Thank you so much to Jesi, Miriam at the team at Llopart!
