Today, the festival ended and I have finally come home to my little house by the river. Even if you stand on the trade show and talk about beer all day long, there is no beer being drunk by us and nothing else for that matter either, besides large quantities of water. You just don't feel like it, much like when you cook all day and stand in the middle of the vapors. But to night when I got home and met my husband, it was so incredibly nice to just get to sit down at the table, talk about the week that passed and drink a glass of really nice cava.
Pere Ventura, has made the mixture of 30% Macabeu, 40% Xarel-lo, 15% Parellada and 15% Chardonnay. In addition, parts of Xarel-lo has been aged in oak barrels which gives wonderful hints of vanilla and a little bit toffee. Yummy!
