Time passed quickly at the beer and whiskey festival this weekend and there was not much time to walk around and look at the other exhibitors. But I managed to have a quick look and found least one exhibitor with cava in their portfolio, namely the Swedish representative for PereVentura. To my delight they told me that they just included their Cuvée Maria Del Mar in the monopoly's ordering catalog. Fantastic, because Maria Del Mar was my absolute favorite when we visited cava house and got to try their portfolio.
Cuvée Maria Del Mar is composed of the three traditional grapes, Xarel.lo, Macabeo and Parellada, but also 15% chardonnay in the cuvée. What makes it extra special is that some of the Xarel-lo is aged in oak barrels, giving a rounder flavor of ripe fruit, honey, almond and vanilla. The storage that is at least 30 months gives delicious toasty notes hints in the long aftertaste. A fantastic food cava.
For only 139 SEK in the ordering range, it is a good bargain!
